Police Sweep Captures Wanted Suspects in West Daly

Northern Territory Police have arrested four wanted offenders and recovered four stolen vehicles during a targeted policing operation in the West Daly region.

Members from Strike Force Trident, supported by the Dog Operations Unit, deployed to the region this week to locate offenders wanted for a range of serious offences.

Over the course of the 24-hour operation, police arrested:

  • A 30-year-old man wanted for Aggravated Assault and Breach of a Domestic Violence Order.
  • A 20-year-old man wanted for Breach of Bail.
  • A 23-year-old man wanted for Aggravated Burglary, Theft and Damage to Property.
  • A 17-year-old male wanted for three counts of Drive a Motor Vehicle Without the Owner's Consent and Drive in a Dangerous Manner.

Police also recovered four vehicles that had previously been reported stolen from communities across the Northern Territory.

Detective Senior Sergeant Darren Burns said the operation reinforced that offenders cannot avoid police simply by travelling to remote communities.

"Many of the offenders we target commit crimes hundreds of kilometres away, but that won't stop us from finding them."

"Strike Force Trident will continue to work alongside our specialist units and local police to track down offenders wherever they go and hold them accountable."

"Every report from the community helps build the bigger picture. If you've been the victim of crime or have information about an offender, report it. That information allows us to investigate, locate those responsible and deliver justice for victims."

Investigations remain ongoing. Anyone with information about criminal activity is urged to contact police on 131 444. Anonymous reports can be made through Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
