Police update: PSPA Declaration revoked, Labrador

The earlier Public Safety Preservation Act (PSPA) at Labrador has since been revoked and a 46-year-old man has been taken safely into custody after police began negotiations with a man inside a unit yesterday afternoon.

Around 4.30pm yesterday (Tuesday December 6) police attended a Brown Street property in relation to a disturbance.

Upon arrival, police began negotiations with a man, who was in the residence alone and unarmed.

Police made an emergency declaration under the Public Safety Preservation Act (PSPA) in relation to the incident.

An emergency situation was declared just before 7.30pm last night.

The area declared encompassed a small unit block on Brown Street with residents within the complex evacuated as a precaution.

Around 8.25am the man was taken into police custody without incident.

No one was injured and residents have returned to their units.

Police investigations into the incident are ongoing.
