Police update: Search resumes for missing man off Milang, South Australia

The search for a man who went missing last Friday in Lake Alexandrina south of Adelaide, has resumed this morning.

On Friday morning 27 November, two men set off on an inflatable canoe from Sheoak Road just north of Milang and failed to return.

Water Operations Unit officers coordinated a search and rescue effort which included local police, Sea Rescue Squadron boats and PolAir.

Later that afternoon, one of the missing men, a 19-year-old from Elizabeth Vale, was found floating in the water and was treated by SA Ambulance crews for hypothermia.

The empty inflatable canoe was also located.

Sadly the second man, a 31-year-old Brahma Lodge man wasn't found and the search continued over the weekend.

This morning , Thursday 3 December, members of the Police Water Operations Unit and Sea Rescue Squadron have returned to the region to resume the search, after poor weather conditions halted the operation the previous two days.

The search of the area using jetskis and hovercraft commenced at 8am from the Milang Boat ramp.
