About 2.20pm, Police and Department of Fire and Emergency Services (DFES) were advised of a fire burning in bushland between Green and Tappak Streets in Spalding.
The fire was contained but on Sunday 30 November 2025, emergency services were advised the fire had re-ignited and fanned by strong winds, rapidly spread across several suburbs. The fire has destroyed one home and impacted on lives and property, with several areas being evacuated.
Specialist Strike Force Vulcan officers conducted a fire scene examination on 2 December 2025, and they were able to identify the ignition point of the fire that commenced on 28 November - was in bushland near Heal Place, Spalding. The cause of the ignition is being treated as suspicious.
Officers urge anyone who saw any suspicious persons, vehicles, or activity in the vicinity of Heal Place and Green and Tappak Streets on the afternoon of Friday 28 November, to contact Crime Stoppers online at www.crimestopperswa.com.au or by phone on 1800 333 000.

Rewards of up to $25,000 are available for information that leads to the identification and conviction of an arsonist.
