PSPA Emergency Declaration Declaration At Cairns

Police have made an emergency declaration under the Public Safety Preservation Act (PSPA) following the discovery of a suspicious device at Parramatta Park this morning.

Reports were received about an unusual item located in the car park of a Mulgrave Road business.

The PSPA was declared at 12.07pm to allow the device to be assessed by police explosives experts.

The emergency declaration encompasses Mulgrave Road/Bruce Highway and Miller Street.

The public are advised to avoid the area while the PSPA remains in place.
