Pursuit leads to arrest, South Australia

A man will face court today after a lengthy pursuit early this morning.

Just after midnight, Monday 24 February, patrols spotted a stolen silver Audi station wagon on Tapleys Hill Road, Seaton. They attempted to stop the car but the driver refused and speed off on Grange Road.

The vehicle was followed for a few minutes but patrols terminated the pursuit for safety reasons near Richmond Road, Marleston.

About 10 minutes later the Police Helicopter spotted the car on Goodwood Road and tracked it from above through back streets of Unley and Fullarton before it hit the Freeway.

PolAir tracked the vehicle up the Freeway before it was successfully spiked at Murray Bridge where it eventually stopped and the driver was arrested.

The Audi had been stolen from Henley Beach Saturday night (22 February).

The driver and sole occupant of the car a 20-year-old man of no fixed address was arrested and charged with illegal use, aggravated engage in police pursuit, driving at a manner dangerous, speed dangerous, expired licence and resist arrest. He has been refused bail and is expected to appear in the Murray Bridge Magistrates Court later today.
