QIMR Berghofer has formalised a new international partnership with TFBS Bioscience, Inc., signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to accelerate innovation in cell and gene therapy (CGT).
The strategic partnership is designed to combine the expertise and resources of both organisations to advance the development of innovative therapies and expand international market opportunities. The MOU was signed at a formal ceremony attended by TFBS Bioscience Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Dr Tatung Yuan and QIMR Berghofer Chief Commercial Officer Dr Robert McLachlan.
QIMR Berghofer has a strong focus on turning scientific discoveries into clinical impact. Its specialist facility, Q-Gen Cell Therapeutics, has been at the forefront of manufacturing cell therapies for more than 25 years, supporting the progression of new treatments from early research through to clinical trials.
TFBS Bioscience brings complementary capabilities, specialising in viral vector manufacturing and providing integrated services across the CGT and biologics pipeline. Its expertise spans research and development, process development and Good Manufacturing Practice manufacturing, alongside biosafety, preclinical and clinical testing services.
Through this collaboration, the organisations will align their strengths across research, development and manufacturing, with a shared goal of accelerating the translation of promising CGT technologies into clinical application. The partnership will also support increased global engagement, including joint participation in international industry events and coordinated efforts to strengthen their presence across the Asia-Pacific region.
It is also expected to enhance global market visibility and create new pathways for delivering advanced therapies to patients worldwide.
