An online portal will connect Queenslanders with new job opportunities and training during the COVID-19 pandemic, as the infection curve continues to flatten with five new cases.
There are now 554 active cases with 442 recoveries and five deaths for a total of 1001.
As part of the Government's $4 billion COVID-19 support package, the Treasurer said Queenslanders looking for work can upload information on their skills and work experience to jobsfinder.qld.gov.au, to be matched to available jobs and free online training courses.
Also today:
- Landlords and tenants have been assured that the Government will listen and work with them on temporary COVID-19 rental measures.
The Housing Minister said guidelines would be worked through with tenants, property managers and owners before Parliament considers the package.
- Cafés and restaurants deserve a fair go from delivery services during the pandemic.
The Small Business Minister announced a meeting of stakeholders to address delivery fees.
- The Chief Health Officer said the COVID-19 case numbers were excellent news, but they will get worse when more people return from overseas.
However those returning will go into mandatory hotel quarantine to protect the community.
