Rail upgrade works to impact public transport from 2

Sydney Metro and Transport for NSW wish to advise that the T1 North Shore Line will be closed between Gordon and North Sydney and Metro services between North Ryde and Chatswood for rail upgrade works from 3 October to 7 October 2022.

This will include Metro upgrade works as well as essential safety work on signals and track inspections.

Sydney Metro recommends customers make alternative travel arrangements if they are able to. If customers must travel, they are recommended to plan ahead as there will be limited rail replacement bus services running.

Some traffic and transport changes will also affect customers in northern Sydney, such as special event clearways, no stopping zones and bus zones.

Information about these traffic changes will be available on the Live Traffic website.

Information staff will be on hand at Gordon, Chatswood, North Sydney, Macquarie Park and Macquarie University stations to assist customers and answer questions. Bus marshalls will manage bus operations. Wayfinding signage will be in place.

Buses will also replace trains for a planned rail possession on Saturday 8 October and Sunday 9 October on the T1 North Shore Line between Hornsby and Wynyard, and between Tallawong and Chatswood on the Metro North West Line.
