This year's theme is 'The Year of Toys' and there are more than 100 entries.
What's next: The winners will progress to the regional competition, which will be held in Dubbo in September.
This year's competition received more than 100 entries of creative works made from reused and recycled waste material. The theme for 2025 is 'The Year of Toys'.
Waste 2 Art is a community event that is open to all councils in the NetWaste region, which aims to challenge people's perceptions about 'rubbish' and celebrate the reuse and recycling of waste through arts and crafts.
Orange City Council's Environmental Sustainability Community Committee Chair, Cr David Mallard is looking forward to seeing this year's creations.
"Every year, imaginations run wild as aspiring and professional artists, school students and community groups give rubbish a new lease of life as a work of art," Cr Mallard said.
"I encourage everyone to come along and see the innovative ways artists have taken waste and turned it into art and take a moment to consider how they too can reuse and recycle items that would normally end up in landfill."
Members of the public can vote for their favourite artwork in the People's Choice competition from 16-20 June.
The winning entries will be announced at the official presentation at 5.30pm on Friday 20 June at Orange City Library.
The winners will progress to the regional Waste 2 Art competition, which will be held at the Western Plains Cultural Centre in Dubbo from 20 September 2025.
