The Crisafulli Government is delivering a place to call home for more Queenslanders with the latest social housing register numbers showing more Queenslanders are being housed as record home delivery gathers pace.
The social housing register has reduced month on month since last October after peaking at almost 44,980 people under Labor's decade of decline.
The latest July figures show there are now 41,298 people on the social housing register, 3,682 fewer people than when the Crisafulli Government came to office. Almost 5,300 households have been assisted into social housing during 2025-26.
The results come as the Crisafulli Government continues to put record investment in housing supply, with 4,469 social and community homes already delivered towards the Government's target of 53,500 new social and community homes by 2044, and 6,925 social and affordable homes underway across Queensland.
Over 35,500 households are now receiving private rental market assistance helping Queenslanders to remain in their homes.
Minister for Housing and Public Works Sam O'Connor said the figures showed Queensland's housing plan was delivering a place to call home for more Queenslanders after Labor left behind the highest social housing waitlist in the State's history.
"When we came to Government, Labor had left Queensland with a record social housing waitlist after a decade where housing supply simply failed to keep up with demand," Minister O'Connor said.
"We're now delivering more homes than ever before, helping more Queenslanders into housing and starting to see that waitlist move in the right direction.
"More than 5,300 households were assisted into social housing over the past year, while we've already delivered almost 4,500 homes towards our target of 53,500 new social and community homes by 2044.
"We're not pretending the job is finished. We know there is still more work to do, but these figures show our plan is working because we're getting more homes out of the ground, sooner, and helping more Queenslanders find a place to call home."
