Richmond Crash: Arrest Made After Multi-Car Collision

Police have arrested a man following a series of collisions and erratic driving on 17 March.

Multiple reports came through of a vehicle being driven on the wrong side of the road at times on rims in the Yarra area.

The vehicle was located by police on Highett Street in Richmond and a short pursuit took place before the Ford Ranger crashed on York Street in Richmond around 7pm.

The driver fled and was chased by police and arrested a short time later.

The vehicle has crashed into four vehicles on York Street and approximately six others in the Collingwood and Fitzroy areas during the incident.

A search of the vehicle also uncovered a quantity of drugs.

No one has been reported injured and the investigation into the exact circumstances of the incident are ongoing.

The 49-year-old Oakleigh man is currently being interviewed.
