RMIT University is strengthening its commitment to Singapore through two recent Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signings with the National University of Singapore (NUS) and the Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD).
These initiatives underpin RMIT's Singapore Country Commitment by focusing on advanced research and collaborative projects in Southeast Asia.
Representatives from RMIT and the NUS Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine met earlier this month to sign the MoU which will leverage strengths in RMIT's School of Health and Biomedical Sciences with NUS's newly launched Academy of Healthy Longevity. Together, they will address global health challenges through research in precision geromedicine, healthy ageing and longevity. The collaboration includes joint research projects, shared facilities, and training programs, positioning both institutions as leaders in healthy longevity and wellbeing, with potential for transformative education and policy developments.
Meanwhile, RMIT has also signed an MoU with Singapore University of Technology & Design as part of the DesignZ alliance, a global group of leading design and technology universities focused on research and innovation. As the sole representative from Oceania, RMIT will contribute to important discussions through academic and student exchanges, joint research labs, and participation in the international design and technology forum in Singapore in 2026.
Both joint initiatives highlight RMIT's dedication to enhancing educational and research opportunities in Singapore and broader Asia Pacific region. Through collaborative networks with likeminded institutions and shared objectives, RMIT aims to make a meaningful impact locally and across the region, fostering growth and innovation.
