Rock fisherman dies after being pulled from water - Kurnell

A rock fisherman has died after being pulled from the water at Kurnell this afternoon.

About 1.50pm (Monday 17 January 2022), emergency services were called to Cape Solander Drive, Kurnell, following reports a rock fisherman was in trouble in the water.

The man – who was wearing a life vest – was pulled from the water by officers attached to the Marine Area Command, who commenced CPR.

He was taken to shore where NSW Ambulance paramedics relieved police and continued performing CPR.

Despite their efforts, the man died at the scene.

He is yet to be formally identified, however, believed to be aged in his 60's.

Officers attached Sutherland Shire Police Area Command also attended and will now prepare a report for the information of the Coroner.
