Western Australia's much-loved Perth Royal Show gets underway today with the Cook Government helping families to enjoy the fun through discounted tickets.
The $1.9 million support package ensures entry is affordable, by providing a 25 per cent discount across all categories.
A further $650,000 grant through Lotterywest will provide up to 17,000 disadvantaged people with free admission, food and ride vouchers.
This includes those living with special needs, culturally and linguistic diverse communities, Aboriginal people, people living with a disability, and people from regional areas.
The eight-day extravaganza unites the WA community and this year's highlights include the drone show, more than 300 showbags and WA's biggest light-up slide, which is a new addition.
The annual event delivered by the Royal Agricultural Society of Western Australia (RASWA) also showcases WA's vital agriculture and food sectors.
The WA agriculture industry contributed $24 billion to the State economy in 2022, supporting more than 52,000 jobs and exports worth $15.4 billion.
The Perth Royal Show attracts about 350,000 people and almost 4000 animals and livestock, many of which feature in competitions.

"We know some families are doing it tough, and our investment will help to keep tickets affordable and will provide free entry for those who need it most.
"We urge families to take advantage of this discount and get down to the Show this school holidays."

"From the cattle competition, where regional farmers show off their prized livestock, and the tractor driving challenge involving agriculture college students to sheep shearing demonstrations, the Perth Royal Show profiles a diverse range of rural industries.
"Our Government is delighted to continue its long association with RASWA in bringing the country to the city and uniting generations of showgoers since 1834."
