Safer Communities - Site Chosen for new Palmerston Fire Station

TheTerritory Labor Government today announced the site for the new $25 millionstate-of-the-art Palmerston Fire Station.

Thestation which was announced in February - will be built at the old VIVO bussite off Howard Springs Road.

Thenew location means fire fighters can respond to emergencies in Palmerston andrural areas within seven minutes by road.

Itwill be home to 24 fire fighters, along with additional NTES volunteers, andwill feature state-of-the-art facilities, including more room for largerappliances, training facilities, and an operations room.

Constructionis due to commence later this year, and be completed by 2021. .
