Dr. Sakura Kirino, Project Researcher in the Department of Gastroenterology and Hepatology, Graduate School of Medical and Dental Sciences, has received the 21st L'Oréal-UNESCO For Women in Science Japan Fellowship - Life Sciences category (2026).
Established in 2005 by L'Oréal Japan in cooperation with the Japanese National Commission for UNESCO, this fellowship supports the continued research careers of promising young female scientists in Japan working in the physical sciences and life sciences. Each year, two recipients are selected in each field (four in total) from among women under the age of 40 who are currently enrolled in, or plan to enroll in, a doctoral program in Japan.
