Scooter rider threatened in Malvern

Stonnington Crime Investigation Unit detectives are investigating an alleged road rage which occurred in Malvern on Tuesday 2 May.

Investigators have been told a man was riding an electric scooter near the Normanby Road underpass about 4.30pm.

A silver Volkswagen Jetta sedan followed the scooter and two males got out of the car and approached the scooter riding while brandishing machetes.

A bottle was thrown at the scooter rider who managed to flee before being injured.

The males returned to the car and drove off.

Investigators believe there were four or five people in the vehicle at the time of the incident.

Police wish to speak to anyone who witnessed the incident and the scooter rider involved.
