Serious assault charge at Ingham

Police have charged a 49-year-old Ingham man following an alleged assault yesterday (February 20).

Police will allege the 49-year-old man attended a Boyd Street house in possession of a tomahawk, then assaulted a 61-year-old Ingham man leaving him with a deep wound to his elbow before fleeing the area on foot.

Investigations led police to apprehend the 46-year-old was apprehended a short distance away in Palm Terrace.

The 61-year-old was transported to Ingham Hospital and a crime scene was established. The 46-year-old was subsequently charged with assault causing grievous bodily harm and enter dwelling with intent to commit an indictable offence.
