Serious Incident at Flagstaff (Crisis Accommodation Service)

The Salvation Army sends its deepest condolences to family and friends of a client who tragically died at our Flagstaff Crisis Accommodation centre in West Melbourne this morning.
Our thoughts and prayers are with them during this difficult time.
Residents and staff are obviously shaken by this unexpected incident and The Salvation Army is providing counselling to support them during this period.
We are assisting the police with their investigation into the incident and therefore will be unable to make any further public comment.
Flagstaff is a Victoria wide crisis service providing accommodation, meals and welfare supports for 64 men with priority given to men in crisis who have no other options and significant support needs. The service is open 24 hours/day, 7 days/week.
The Royal District Nursing Service provides a Community Health Nurse 5 days/week and local GPs visit regularly. Other visiting professionals include Waratah Homeless Outreach Psychiatric Service, Turning Point and Disability Homeless Outreach Service.
