Mornington Peninsula Shire understands the toll the pandemic has taken. To help our local businesses we have offered rent relief, waived outdoor trading fees, launched our Funding Finder website and Support Local campaign as well as organised extended outdoor dining for food businesses and more.

Our latest action in the relief and recovery space is the roll out of a range of grant programs to support our community in the recovery phase. The grants will launch in early 2021 and eligible business associations, bushland and foreshore friends groups, landcare groups, not for profit organisations, community groups and creatives (individuals and organisations/groups) are encouraged to apply.

Available grants include:

  • Relief (quick response) Grants $2,000. Open: 18 January 2021, available until funds are expended
  • Business Association COVID-19 Recovery Grant Program $3,000. Open: 1 February – 5 March 2021
  • Community Recovery Grants $10,000. Open: 1 – 26 February 2021
  • Biolinks Support Grants $10,000. Open: 8 February – 5 March 2021.

Guidelines for each program with eligibility and assessment criteria is available on our website.

To accelerate the relief and recovery suite of programs the annual Community Grant Program encompassing Community Placemaking, Community Support and Creative Community Grants has been deferred for the 2020–21 financial year.
