Sino-Norwegian Center for Study of Society and Environment set up at ZJU

On September 17, the Sino-Norwegian Center for the Study of Society and Environment (SINORSE) was announced to be officially established by Zhejiang University and the University of Oslo (UiO). Meanwhile, the 2019 Sino-Norwegian Workshop on Social and Environmental Research was also hosted.

ZJU Vice President HE Lianzhen delivered a welcome speech at the opening ceremony. "ZJU and UiO have long cemented ties between each other, thus promoting the establishment of the Center. I hope that the Center will make contributions to both universities and offer a paradigm of intercollegiate partnership for other universities to copy," said HE Lianzhen.

"The Center is of supreme importance for ZJU and UiO to enter into substantial partnership. It will be committed to building an innovative team on cutting-edge research into social and environmental sciences and enhancing international and inter-disciplinary cooperation in scientific research. This will facilitate academic exchanges between the two universities, promote joint doctoral programs and elevate the globalization of talent cultivation," said UiO Vice Vector ÅseGornitzka.
