Eighteen people in South Australia have today tested positive for COVID-19. There have now been a total of 385 confirmed cases in South Australia.
Today's cases range in age from a person in their teens to people in their 70s.
The teenager is a student at Henley High School and the school has made the decision to close. There has been no further exposure to other students at this point in time however contact tracing is underway.
Investigations are ongoing into the cluster of cases identified earlier this week at Adelaide Airport. Twelve baggage handlers and five close contacts have tested positive for COVID-19, taking the cluster to a total of 17 cases. The first case related to the cluster received a positive test result on 27 March.
Anyone who is sick with symptoms of COVID-19 and has been at the airport, including in the terminal or car park, in the last 14 days prior to symptom onset should present for testing.
As of today, there are 81 cases linked to the Ruby Princess cruise ship, which is the biggest cluster in cases. There have been 114 cases in total linked to cruise ships.
To date, there are a total of three cases in South Australia who are classed as local transmission in SA.
All other confirmed cases have recently returned from overseas, interstate, or are a close contact of a previously confirmed case.
Almost 1,000 close contacts of confirmed cases are being contacted daily for symptom checks.
As of yesterday, SA Pathology has undertaken close to 30,000 tests.
To date, 44 people have been confirmed cleared of COVID-19 however we expect this number to increase as our data is updated.
