Nerang Street in Southport will transform into a vibrant street party on Saturday 18 July, as the City's free annual music festival, Sundown, returns.
Division 8 Councillor Bob La Castra said the all-ages, non-ticketed event celebrates emerging homegrown talent and is expected to draw a crowd of Aussie music lovers.
"Sundown returns for its third consecutive year with an exciting line-up of local and rising artists for residents and visitors to enjoy," Cr La Castra said.
The popular event was a finalist for the People's Choice Award for Festival of the Year at this year's QMusic Awards.
"People love it because it's more than just live music," he said.
"There's street art and a signature installation from SURFACE Festival, who are bringing bold colour and energy to the event for the first time."
Headlining the festival and riding high off the release of their latest album Lovesick Sentimental, is indie rock group Pacific Avenue – the band behind iconic tracks like Something Good and Someday Soon.
Joining them on the stage are Letters to Lions, The Colliflowers, and local artists Laurel Hill, Yours to Keep and HAEL.
The team behind 'merge', a creative platform dedicated to spotlighting original music by emerging Australian producers, will also curate a 'Laneway Takeover' from 6pm to 8pm, connecting audiences with music that is authentic, inspiring and unique.
"There'll also be street eats and cold drinks available to purchase," Cr Bob La Castra added.
When Sundown ends, the fun continues with a program of live music across some of Southport's favourite venues including Mr PP's, Last Night on Earth and Vinnies.
Sundown is presented by City of Gold Coast.
