Speeding drink driver stopped in Bulleen

A man was caught drink driving in Bulleen after driving at speed in Bulleen this morning.

Fitzroy police observed a car driving erratically outbound on the Eastern Freeway and detected it driving at 127km in a 100km/h speed zone.

Officers intercepted the car and the male driver and sole occupant returned a positive preliminary breath test before returning an evidentiary breath test of 0.098.

The 35-year-old Bulleen man had his licence immediately suspended for six months and his vehicle impounded at a cost of $932.40.

He is expected to be charged on summons with drink driving, breaching a licence condition and speeding offences.
