Spot, one of the world's most beloved dogs, is bounding into Dubbo Regional Theatre and Convention Centre (DRTCC) this May. The iconic yellow puppy will leap from the page to the stage at the DRTCC on Tuesday 5 May 2026 at 6pm, and Wednesday 6 May at 10am and 12:30pm in a lively, colourful theatrical experience.
Spot and his friends are off on a new adventure to visit Spot's Dad on the farm and meet the farm animals. But when they arrive, all the animals are lost!
Can Spot and his friends find them all? They might need a little help from their new friends in the audience.
Eric Hill's beloved puppy comes to life on stage in a show that's fun for the whole family, with puppetry, songs, and puzzles for children aged 18 months and up, and their accompanying adults who probably grew up loving Spot as much as their children.
DRTCC's Performing Arts and Venues Coordinator Tiffany Rowland said schools and families have been quick to secure their seats.
"Our daytime performances are already approaching capacity, which shows just how strongly Spot resonates across generations.
"The evening show is selling fast as well. It's clear that parents are just as excited as their children to see Spot on stage.
"For our family performances we've introduced a new $19.00 child ticket for ages 1–11. We want every child to have the opportunity to enjoy the magic of live theatre, especially when it features a character as iconic as Spot," Ms Rowland said.
Spot is produced by CDP Theatre Producers, who have been bringing quality children's productions to theatres across Australia for many years. These include The Gruffalo, The Gruffalo's Child, Room on the Broom, The Very Hungry Caterpillar Show, Dog Man the Musical and the Treehouse series.
