Stage Is Set For Festival Of Football

The transformation of Broadmeadows Central is underway in preparation for the biggest event on the world football calendar, with the World Cup set to go live in Hume City for the Festival of Football.

The Member for Calwell Basem Abdo MP and the Member for Broadmeadows Kathleen Matthews-Ward MP, joined Hume City Mayor Cr Carly Moore and Hume City Councillors Ally Watson, Naim Kurt and Steve Gagen, to gear up for the festival and viewing action.

The Festival of Football brings the World Cup live and local to Hume over four big days, giving fans a place to watch the world's biggest sporting event with family and friends in the heart of Broadmeadows.

Along with 13 scheduled live match screenings the transformed Broadmeadows Town Hall car park will feature live music and DJ, food trucks, a rock climbing wall, kids' activities and more to enjoy.

The Festival of Football is supported by Project Broadmeadows and funded with $3.33 million by the Australian Government through the Urban Precincts and Partnership Program.

The Festival of Football and Project Broadmeadows are delivered in partnership with Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung, Kangan Institute, Vicinity Group, Banksia Gardens Community Services, DPV Health, Northern Community Legal Service, Spectrum, and the Victorian Department of Transport and Planning.
