State Flying Squad officers have charged 20 people with 110 offences during a recent crime crackdown in Townsville.
Between April 29 and May 6, the State Flying Squad was deployed to Townsville to join local specialist and general duties officers to target property offenders and support community safety initiatives.
Over the seven-day deployment, the State Flying Squad officers, alongside Townsville police, conducted proactive engagements including strategic high-visibility patrols, targeted investigations, street checks, bail checks and warrants.
Police charged 17 juveniles with 103 offences including 50 breaches of bail, 12 counts of stealing, seven counts of attempted enter dwelling with intent and unlawful use of a motor vehicle, five counts of attempted enter premises with intent, four counts each of enter premises and commit and wilful damage, two counts each of trespass, shop stealing, and enter dwelling and commit, and one count each of enter premises with intent, common assault, possess dangerous drug, possess tainted property, possess utensils, possess things used in commission of a crime, possess s4 or s8 medicine, and robbery.
Three adults were charged with seven offences, including one count each of enter premises and commit, going armed to cause fear, offence of driving while under the influence of drugs, assault occasioning bodily harm, common assault, public nuisance, and wilful damage.
On April 30, police arrested two girls following reports of an alleged attempted break in Thuringowa Central.

A 12-year-old Kirwan girl was charged with 21 offences including four counts of enter dwelling with intent, two counts each of attempted enter premises with intent and stealing, and one count each of robbery, unlawful use of a motor vehicle and possess dangerous drugs (Cannabis).
A 15-year-old Kelso girl was charged with five offences including two counts each of attempted enter premises with intent to commit indictable offence and attempted enter dwelling with intent by break at night in company damages property, and one count of stealing.
Both appeared before the Townsville Children's Court on May 1.
Acting Superintendent Erin Shawcross said the State Flying Squad surge built on local policing continued efforts to disrupt and intercept offenders.
"We continue to take a strong stance against any offender who seeks to harm or disrupt our community's safety or feeling of safety," Acting Superintendent Shawcross said.
"The State Flying Squad's resources supported our district's investigations and led to the swift apprehension of multiple serious repeat offenders."
