State Grant Adds 12 Community Housing Units in Byford

  • Stellar Livingdelivered 12 new units in Byford as a result of a $2.4 million State Government grant
  • The 12 units provide two-bedroom, one-bathroom homes for seniors
  • These 12 units will contribute to the State Government's commitment to deliver 5,300 additional social homes

Twelve more two-bedroom, one-bathroom units in Byford have been delivered thanks to a $2.4 million State Government grant to Stellar Living.

Stellar Living has a strong history of working with the State Government to provide affordable community housing and tenancy services across Western Australia.

These 12 new homes add to the more than 3,000 social homes delivered in across WA since 2021.

As stated by Housing and Works Minister John Carey:

"The Cook Labor Government is doing everything it can to boost housing supply across the State - particularly for the most vulnerable members of our community.

"Thanks to a $2.4 million grant, the State Government has been able to partner with Stellar Livingto deliver 12 new homes for seniors.

"Since 2021, we've invested a record $5.1 billion in housing and homelessness measures, adding more than 3,000 social homes with over 1,000 more under contract or construction throughout Western Australia."

As stated by Darling Range MLA Hugh Jones:

"We know that seniors have been feeling the pinch and older women are particularly prone to becoming at risk of homelessness.

"I'm incredibly proud to be part of a State Government that is actively working on solutions.

"These 12 units move us a step closer to ensuring that Darling Range locals can live out their retirement in comfort and security."
