Stay Safe This Summer: Bayside

It's certainly been a long-awaited summer! But before you dive in, take a moment to consider these tips to keep you and your loved ones safe.

Be safe at the beach

You know the drill: slip, slop, slap. Know your limitations and assess the water before you enter.

Make sure your pool is safe

Sadly, incidents around backyard pools occur all year-round, and if you are a pool owner it's your responsibility to make sure your pool is safe. See our pool safety page for the latest laws and safety requirements.

Protect yourself from mozzies

Pesky mosquitos can transmit several serious human diseases such as Ross River and Barmah Virus. Always wear repellent and wear long loose-fitting clothing to protect yourself. See NSW Health's fact sheet.

Beat the heat

Keep cool during hot weather and heatwaves. Look out for those most at risk such as the elderly and see how to best protect against the heat.

Check on wildlife and pets

Our littlest of locals can feel the heat too! You can help by leaving plenty of water bowls out and reporting any distressed animals to WIRES or Sydney Wildlife.
