Stolen Vehicle Arrests

Midland Police have charged four juveniles in relation to a stealing incident in Caversham, and for being in possession of a vehicle that had been stolen from a residence in Jane Brook last night, Friday 7 April 2023.
About 9:35pm a group of juveniles attended a residence in Lombardy Crescent, Caversham. It will be alleged they stole a garage door remote from an unlocked vehicle, before they were disturbed and fled the scene in a Ford Falcon sedan.
It has since been established the Ford Falcon had been stolen from a residence in Jane Brook Drive, Jane Brook earlier in the evening. The investigation into the stealing of that vehicle, and how the juveniles came to be in possession of it is ongoing.
About 11:40pm officers on patrol sighted the vehicle in Caversham, and Police Air Wing took over monitoring the vehicle as it was driven in the area of Patricia Street and Coonawarra Drive, Caversham.
The vehicle was monitored as it was driven through several suburbs. A stinger device was successfully deployed on Great Northern Highway, just south of West Swan Road. The vehicle was abandoned a short time later on Leake Place, in Belhus, and all seven occupants fled on foot.
The Police Air Wing crew monitored their movements, directing officers on the ground to their location, where all seven were arrested without incident.
Four members of the group – a 14-year-old boy from Landsdale, a 13-year-old boy from Girrawheen, a 13-year-old boy from Caversham, and a 13-year-old boy from Seville Grove – were each charged with 'Stealing' and 'Steal Motor Vehicle to use without the Consent of the Owner'. They were refused bail and are due to appear in Perth Children's Court today, Saturday 8 April 2023.
The remaining three members of the group – boys aged 11, 13 and 14 – were released without charge, pending further investigation.
