Three teenagers have been charged following investigations into a break and enter at Heatley where a red Haval Jolion was stolen last night, 16 June.
It will be alleged about 9.15pm a 17-year-old Palm Island boy gained entry to a house on Fuller Street by forcing entry to a back door.
It will be further alleged the boy has taken keys to the Haval and entered the vehicle when a resident at the address has interrupted the offender. The offender has then allegedly reversed through an electric fence and fled in the vehicle.
About 3.30am, police allegedly sighted the Haval on Freshwater Drive at Douglas and observed the 17-year-old exit the vehicle, before it continued driving.
The 17-year-old fled on foot across the footbridge crossing onto Riverway Drive, Condon before being located and apprehended by Police Dog Gunner.
The 17-year-old sustained minor injuries and was transported to Townsville University Hospital for treatment.
Police continued to track the Haval before it came to a stop on Peters Street, Kelso and police arrested two teenage girls.
A 17-year-old Palm Island boy has been charged with five offences including one count each of unlawful use of a motor vehicle and possess by night instrument of house breaking.
He will appear in the Townsville Childrens Court on 18 June.
A 15-year-old Kelso girl has been charged with one count of unlawful use of a motor vehicle and will appear in the Townsville Childrens Court on today, 17 June.
A 13-year-old Kelso girl has been charged with one count of unlawful use of a motor vehicle - in company and will appear in the Townsville Childrens Court today, 17 June.
