Residents in Drummoyne now have more public space to relax, connect and gather outdoors within walking distance of their home.
"We are thrilled to provide our community with these brand news spaces to come together, support local business, relax and have fun," City of Canada Bay Mayor Angelo Tsirekas said.
"These spaces will also have the added benefit of increasing foot traffic to the area, helping to boost local business."
The $3 million project is jointly funded by Transport for NSW and the City of Canada Bay, as part of the state-wide Your High Street Program, aimed at promoting permanent improvements to the amenity of high streets in local government areas.
"The new spaces have transformed the previous drab concrete areas with landscaping, new seating, shading, lighting and interactive elements such as a ping pong table. The space will also feature a soon to be installed smart screen, which can be used to activate the space and promote local businesses," Mayor Tsirekas said.
The City of Canada Bay is also thrilled to welcome public art to the spaces by photographer and artist Carla Gottgens and First Nations artist David Cragg.
