Strike force established to investigate man's death at Woy Woy

A strike force has been established as inquiries continue into an alleged fatal stabbing on the Central Coast.

Emergency Services were called to Macarthur Street at Woy Woy about 6.15pm yesterday (Saturday 17 December 2022), where they found a man unconscious in the street with multiple stab wounds.

Officers from Brisbane Water Police District commenced CPR until the arrival of Ambulance paramedics; however, the man died at the scene.

While he is yet to be formally identified, it's believed he is a 41-year-old local man.

Police established crime scenes at multiple locations, including on nearby Railway Street, where it's believed the stabbing took place.

Strike Force Ambyne has been established by local detectives, assisted by the State Crime Command's Homicide Squad.

While the investigation is in its infancy, it's believed incident was targeted and there is no ongoing threat to the local community.

As investigations continue, investigators are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident or may have information which might assist police is asked to contact Woy Woy Police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
