Sudden death investigation, Alderley

Detectives from Hendra Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB) and the Homicide Unit have launched an investigation following the discovery of human remains at Alderley this morning (December 7).

The remains were located at approximately 10.45am by members of the public under an Alderley Avenue unit complex.

A crime scene has been declared, with scenes of crime and scientific officers conducting forensic examinations on scene.

Investigations are underway to determine the identity of the person located, and the circumstances of their death.

There is no further information available at this stage. Investigations are ongoing.
