Taskforce Falcon Charges Man in Sydney Shooting Spree

Taskforce Falcon detectives have charged a third man following an investigation into the alleged public place shootings of three homes in Sydney's south-west earlier this year.

About 10.45pm on Friday 24 April 2026, emergency services responded to reports of shots fired at a house on Clarence Street, Merrylands.

A short time later, police received reports of gunshots at a home on nearby Lockwood Street, Merrylands.

About 11pm the same day, police were also called to a home on Monash Street, Wentworthville, following reports of a third public place shooting.

Officers attended all three locations and established crime scenes.

No injuries were reported from any of the shootings.

Detectives attached to Cumberland Police Area Command and State Crime Command's Taskforce Falcon took carriage of the investigation and inquiries into the incidents commenced under Strike Force Whish.

Two people have since been charged and remain before the courts.

Following extensive inquiries, about 10.50am yesterday (Tuesday 30 June 2026), strike force detectives arrested a 25-year-old man in Silverwater.

He was charged with conspire to fire firearm at dwelling organised criminal activity, and participate criminal group contribute criminal activity.

He was refused bail to appear at Local Bail Division Court 6 today (Wednesday 1 July 2026), where police will allege the man was planning to take part in a shooting targeting one of the linked premises, that ultimately did not eventuate.
