TasNetworks CEO

Guy Barnett,Minister for Energy

TasNetworks Chief Executive Officer Lance Balcombe has advised the Tasmanian Government of his intention to step down from his role in March 2021.

Mr Balcombe will leave behind a strong legacy with almost two decades of experience in Tasmania's energy businesses, including the last six years as the inaugural CEO of TasNetworks.

He has played a key role in delivering the Government's Tasmania First energy policy that aims to make our state fully renewable-energy self-sufficient and have the lowest regulated power prices by 2022.

He has also been instrumental in our ongoing work to deliver the Marinus Link and Battery of the Nation projects, which have the potential to deliver thousands of jobs and generate billions in investment for Tasmania.

I thank Mr Balcombe for his service to Tasmania's energy companies over many years and wish him all the best for the remainder of his time at the helm.

TasNetworks will now begin a recruitment process to appoint Mr Balcombe's successor.
