Team Australia celebrates success of Study Australia Showcase in India

Austrade

26 Australian higher education institutions, Department of Education, Department of Home Affairs and 8 Australian State Government education agencies (SAP partners), came together on one platform to reposition Australia's education brand in India, interact with students and parents face-to-face to improve knowledge about Australian course offerings and position Australia as the premier higher education study destination for quality Indian students.

The showcase was held across six Indian cities including Bengaluru, Kochi, Chennai, Hyderabad, Pune and Jaipur from September 12 to 22. More than 3,400 students registered for our multi-city showcase. The interactive day-long events saw students and parents engaging one-on-one with our institutions. We highlighted Australia's excellence in education through updates on visa, scholarships and latest government initiatives, information sessions delivered by SAP partners and academic masterclasses. An agent networking high-tea was also organised in all cities for institutions to engage and build their connections.

Students explored our India Hub tools like career matcher and course search tool to explore which course is best for them. Students were able to match their interest areas with the course offerings and approach the participating universities accordingly. Language Confidence, an Australian edtech, was one of the popular activities having organised live IELTS demos for students to check their English language skills through 5 IELTS-style speaking questions.

There was an opportunity for school counsellors to attend career counselling workshops in every city. These sessions were curated by an Australian company, CareerED. 70 school counsellors attended, and we received very positive feedback with 97% of attendees stating they have learnt innovative approaches to career assessment and can apply them in their practice.

Our virtual resource library was also well received, which Australian institutions and State Governments used to upload their marketing collateral, promotional videos, and pre-recorded sessions for students to download before or during the showcase.

Our team has produced an event report highlighting different components of the event, in addition to attendee and exhibitor survey feedback.
