Teen Charged in Dubbo for Break-Ins, Theft, and DV

A teenager has faced court following alleged aggravated break and enter incidents, and a reckless wounding incident in the state's Orana region.

Officers attached to Orana Mid Western Police District were called to a service station on Whylandra Street, Dubbo, about 4.45am Thursday 28 May 2026, with reports of an assault.

Police arrived and were told a 17-year-old girl had been sitting at a bus stop on Minore Road, Dubbo, with another girl, when a 14-year-old boy – who was known to the girl – had allegedly struck her arm with a large knife before fleeing the scene on a scooter.

Police were told the two girls were taken to a service station on Whylandra Street, where they called emergency services.

NSW Ambulance paramedics attended and treated the girl for a laceration to her arm, before taking her to Dubbo Base Hospital in a stable condition.

Following extensive inquires, police – with the assistance of the Western Region Domestic Violence High Risk Offender Team – attended a home in Dubbo about 3.45pm Wednesday 3 June 2026, where they arrested a 14-year-old boy who was allegedly found hiding within the home's roof cavity.

He was taken to Dubbo Police Station where he was charged by virtue of two outstanding warrants for the offences of,

· Aggravated break and enter dwelling etc in company steal less than or equal to $60,000 (two counts)

· Steal motor vehicle (two counts)

· Participate criminal group contribute criminal activity

· Be carried in conveyance taken without consent of owner

· Face blackened/disguised with intent to commit indictable offence

· Commit s114 offence, having previous conviction

· Reckless wounding (DV).

He was refused bail and faced a children's court yesterday (Thursday 4 June 2026), where he was refused bail to reappear before a children's court on Monday 15 June 2026.
