A man has been charged with drink-driving after a teenage boy was critically injured in a crash between a car and a motorcycle at Orange overnight.

Emergency services were called to Burrendong Way and Matthews Avenue, Orange, about 9.20pm (Saturday 18 February 2023), after reports a Holden Commodore and a motorcycle had collided.

Police found a 16-year-old boy – who is a learner rider – suffering multiple injuries including leg fractures; he was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being flown to Westmead Hospital in a critical condition.

The driver of the car and sole occupant – a 53-year-old man – was not injured.
