Ballina Shire Council will temporarily close sections of Fawcett Street and Fawcett Park on Wednesday 21 December 2022, to remove steel sculptures within the park.
The public artwork, which are the steel sculptures sitting atop poles in Fawcett Park, need to be removed for repairs.
A crane will be used to access the sculptures, which will require the temporary closure of sections of Fawcett Street and Fawcett Park, including the playground.
The crane will be operating from 7am, and it is expected that work will be completed by 12 noon.
Access to sections of Fawcett Park, including the playground, will be restricted during these works.
Traffic will be detoured via Cherry Street and Moon Street, with vehicle access maintained for residents and businesses, including deliveries where possible.
Pedestrian access on the footpath adjacent to the businesses will not be obstructed. However, traffic controllers will help pedestrians if required.
