Police have seized more than $70,000 in stolen goods including 500 containers of olive oil during a search warrant in Collingwood on Monday.
Yarra Neighbourhood Policing Team officers executed a search warrant at a business on Dight Street about 1pm.
The warrant followed an extensive investigation into alleged retail theft, including intelligence gathering assisted by retail industry partners from the City of Yarra.
Police arrested a 69-year-old man at the business and seized the following:
- 500 containers of olive oil valued at more than $30,000
- 300 bottles of alcohol valued at more than $25,000
- $9,400 worth of cosmetics
- $5,500 worth of perishable food items
- $3,500 worth of clothing
- $2,955 worth of batteries and cigarettes
- $85,000 in cash
A 69-year-old Collingwood man was charged with handle stolen goods, proceeds of crime, and possess drug of dependence.
He was bailed to appear before the Neighbourhood Justice Centre on 10th of June 2026.
