Thousands Run Pink for Carman's Fun Run, Supporting Breast Cancer

Breast Cancer Network Australia (BCNA)

This Sunday 19 February thousands of people will gather at Elsternwick Park in Brighton for the annual Carman's Fun Run.

With over 3,000 people registered to participate, it's great to see people making their run count and getting back out there to support those in their community affected by breast cancer.

People have been fundraising for months leading into the event to support the important work of Breast Cancer Network Australia (BCNA) – Australia's leading breast cancer consumer organisation – which is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year.

A sea of pink will take to the streets from 7.10am for the start of the half-marathon, followed by the 10k and 5k events throughout the morning.

BCNA Ambassador Raelene Boyle will be at the start line at 8.00am to help rev up the runners and thank them for their support.

'I'm really looking forward to seeing everyone at Carman's Fun Run this Sunday. It's a great day out for the entire family and a wonderful display of support for everyone in this country who goes through a breast cancer diagnosis and the people around them.'

Raelene will be joined by fellow BCNA Ambassadors Jane Bunn and Oskar Baker before they head off on their own 5k challenge.

The day doesn't end at the finish line. The Event Village will be the place to celebrate with friends and family as Carman's Carnival comes alive with entertainment, rides and activities for the kids. There will be a massage and stretching zone for those taking to the course, food and coffee vendors, retail and merchandise stands, and BCNA's Mini-Field of Women tribute.

Whether you're participating or not, head down to Elsternwick Park for what promises to be a family fun day!

BCNA partners with Sole Motive and Carman's to bring this fantastic event to Melbourne, which is now in its 8th year.

For those who want to run for a cause but can't make it on Sunday, the event includes a Run Anywhere, Anytime option. Between 18 - 27 February you can register to run from wherever you are here.
