Trio arrested after pursuit

Three youths have been arrested following a pursuit spanning across Melbourne’s eastern and north western suburbs this morning.

It’s alleged three teenagers stole a Subaru Liberty from Dopel Way in Docklands about 10.40am.

Local units were assisted by the Dog Squad and Air Wing who tracked the stolen station wagon as it was driven around numerous suburbs including Hillside where the driver allegedly rammed a stationary police divisional van on the Melton Highway.

The officers on board were not injured.

Two 15-year-olds and a 13-year-old were arrested after specialist police officers engaged with the vehicle on the Western Ring Road just after 1pm.

The male teens are now assisting police with their enquiries.

Five police cars were damaged during the incident, and two highway patrol officers sustained minor injuries during the arrest.

The Western Ring Road is down to two lanes westbound while police attend to the scene.
