Trio Charged After Pursuit North Of Mildura

A woman and two teenagers will face court today after an alleged pursuit in the state's south-west yesterday.

Officers attached to Traffic and Highway Patrol Command were conducting an operation on the Silver City Highway at Buronga, north-east of Mildura, about 9.30am yesterday (Monday 15 June 2026), when they observed a sedan allegedly travelling at excessive speed.

When the driver allegedly failed to stop despite police direction to do so, a pursuit was initiated.

Police will allege the vehicle continued at speed onto River Road where it reached speeds of up to 190km/hr in signposted 100km/hr speed zones.

The pursuit was terminated in Dareton for safety reasons.

Shortly after, spikes were successfully deployed, with the vehicle coming to a stop in a park on the Silver City Highway, Dareton.

The three occupants of the vehicle – a 24-year-old woman and two 16-year-old girls – allegedly ran from the scene on foot, before officers attached to Barrier Police District arrested the trio.

Police will allege in court the woman resisted arrest, assaulting two officers during the incident.

All three were taken to Dareton Police Station, where the woman was charged with assault police officer in execution of duty without actual bodily harm (two counts), and hinder or resist police officer in the execution of duty.

She was refused bail to face Bail Division Court 4 today (Tuesday 16 June 2026).

One of the 16-year-old girls was charged with police pursuit - not stop - drive at speed, driver never licensed and unlawfully possess number plates.

The other teen was charged with hinder or resist police officer in the execution of duty and breach of bail.

Both teenagers were refused bail to face a children's court today (Tuesday 16 June 2026).
