Two Charged After Drug Seizure South of Wollongong

Police have charged two people with drug offences, following a search warrant at a home south of Wollongong.

About 1.30pm on Friday 28 August 2026, officers attached to Southern Operations Support Group (OSG) executed a search warrant at a unit in Prince Edward Drive, Brownsville.

Officers allegedly located five bags containing 165 grams of methylamphetamine. A further two bags of methylamphetamine were also located, bringing the total amount allegedly seized from the unit to 171.85 grams.

Police also allegedly seized 50 strips of buprenorphine and $1320 cash.

A 33-year-old man and a 40-year-old woman were arrested at the unit and taken to Lake Illawarra Police Station.

The man was charged with supply prohibited drug more than indictable and less than commercial quantity, recklessly deal with proceeds of crime and two counts of possess prohibited drug.

The woman was charged with supply prohibited drug more than indictable and less than commercial quantity and three counts of possess prohibited drug.

Both were refused bail and appeared in Bail Division Court 3 on Saturday 29 August 2026, where they were formally refused bail to reappear in Wollongong Local Court on Tuesday 8 September 2026.
