Two firearms and ammunition found in roof cavity; woman charged at Doonside

A woman has been charged after a search of her Doonside home allegedly revealed two firearms and 500 rounds of ammunition hidden in the roof cavity.

On Friday 30 October 2020, officers from Blacktown Police Area Command executed a search warrant at a home on Melkarth Place, Doonside.

The occupant, a woman, aged 22, was arrested after officers allegedly located a .243 Ticker T3 bolt action firearm, a Browning lever action firearm and 500 rounds of .22 ammunition in the roof cavity.

The woman was charged with possess unauthorised firearm (x2), and not keep firearm safely-not prohibited firearm.

She was refused bail and will appear in Parramatta Bail Court today (Saturday 31 October 2020).
