Two New Members Appointed To CSIRO Board

The Australian Government has appointed Dr Susan Close and Ms Kerryn Coker to the CSIRO Board, each for a 4-year term.

Dr Susan Close brings expertise in government processes, budget planning and strategic prioritisation of research and development. She is a former Deputy Premier and Industry Minister for South Australia and has been Adjunct Professor at Flinders University and the University of South Australia.

Ms Kerryn Coker has extensive experience in large infrastructure development, sustainable development and workforce inclusion. She is a former co-chief executive and co-chair of Arup Australasia, a multinational design and engineering firm.

These appointments fill vacancies left following the retirement of Mr Terry Moran AC in October 2025 and the sad passing of Professor Emma Johnston AO in December 2025.

The appointments were announced by the Minister for Science Tim Ayres.
