UCSF Health Urgent Care Centers Expand Options

It's no surprise that urgent care centers see their highest volumes in the winter with an influx of seasonal illnesses, such as flu, RSV, and Covid. UCSF Health's urgent care facilities provide an invaluable resource for anyone, particularly employees, seeking timely care during seasonal illness surges. With convenient locations and extended hours, these centers are designed to accommodate the demanding schedules of health care professionals and academic staff.

UCSF Health's urgent care team provides evaluation and treatment for medical problems that need prompt attention but are not life-threatening. They offer same-day and next-day appointments for adults 18 and older. For example, the UCSF Health Bayfront Urgent Care Clinic, which opened in August 2024, provides adult evaluations and treatments and is staffed by UCSF physicians. Services include on-site X-ray and ultrasound, valet parking, an outpatient surgery center, and access to a wide range of specialists.

For patients under 18, UCSF Health offers pediatric urgent care at multiple locations.

UCSF Health urgent care patients benefit from short wait times and expert care from providers trained to manage minor injuries and illnesses, whether they're contending with a sprained ankle, a sinus infection, or another pressing problem. Services include rapid diagnostic testing, personalized treatment plans, and even preventive care. These efficient services ensure employees can recover quickly and return to their roles at home and UCSF.

UCSF Health provides urgent care services at 16 locations, including the Screening & Acute Care Clinic at Parnassus Heights , Bayfront Medical Building at Mission Bay , Berkeley Outpatient Center , MarinHealth in Petaluma and San Rafael , and multiple UCSF Health-GoHealth Urgent Care clinics throughout the Bay Area, which are now open 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., seven days a week. Please note that beginning in early 2026, the Screening & Acute Care Clinic will be known as Parnassus Urgent Care.
