The Student Advisory Service, Student Office, Examination Office, Computer Centre, Sports Centre, Sanderring University, Old University and the Institutes in the south wing of the Residence will remain closed during this time. The university buildings on Wittelsbacherplatz, Hubland and North Campus will also be closed. The regulation also applies to the Institutes on Röntgenring and Versbacher Straße.

This was decided by the university management with the agreement of the Staff Council. The aim is once again to reduce energy costs. Technical Operations expects the closure between Christmas and Epiphany to save around 200,000 euros.

Botanical Garden open

The Botanical Garden has been closed in recent months due to extensive construction work. The winter break in the construction work now makes it possible to temporarily open the garden - with restrictions in the outdoor area - from Saturday, 20 December 2025, until the end of January 2026.

It will be open daily, including public holidays, from 8 am to 4 pm. The tropical house closes at 3.30 pm. The exhibition "Botanical Gardens in Bavaria - Green Treasure Troves of Diversity" is currently on display in the entrance area of the Tropenhaus.
